Doornbosch Game Lodge & Guest Houses is in the heart of the rural Overberg, no more than a 2-hour drive from Cape Town. Close to the white beaches of Pearly Beach and just a few minutes from the scenic mission village of Elim. Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa is only 45 minutes away!

The Game Lodge and Guest Houses are part of a 5000 hectare working farm in the western cape with natural Fynbos, Proteas and organic honey cultivation, horses and wild game, farm animals, birds, hiking and biking trails and fresh water dams. And  just around the corner wine estates and the ocean.

Doornbosch Accommodation

We offer five separate guest houses for 2 to 8 guests, perfect for those seeking solitude, nature enthusiasts, honeymooners, families and functions. We also cater especially for riders, who want to explore this wonderful part of nature on horseback.

All holiday homes are uniquely styled and decorated with an eye for detail and a strong South African focus.

A fully equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms with en suite baths with rain shower heads, a cosy living area with fireplace and dining area, a private terrace with outdoor fireplace, braai facility and sun beds. 

All our guests have access to the beautiful outdoor pool, private secure parking, the garden (vegetables depend on season and water situation) and to kilometres of hiking or biking trails.

Breakfast Baskets: Our hearty country breakfast basket includes organic farm eggs, bacon, cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, seasonal fruit, fruit juice, yoghurt, muesli, bread and butter. Basket is R 160 per person per day. Please request your breakfast basket when booking your accommodation. We provide coffee and tea, fresh milk, sugar, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar in each house.

Activities at Doornbosch 

At Doornbosch you can explore the beautiful surrounding on horseback. Guided rides on our reliable and good-natured horses will excite you. Deer, zebras, springbok, eland and other game roam freely on the farm. Enjoy an early morning ride and get close to the animals in absolute peace and harmony. Or go on a game drive in the wonderful light of a late afternoon and see the sun set over the ocean at Pearly Beach.

All rides are led by a qualified instructor who takes care in choosing the right horse for every guest. Our horses are very sure-footed and we do have horses for beginners as well as for the accomplished rider. If you want to try riding for the first time, we do have an arena where you can ride in safety. Also kids can experience life with horses in a playful way and try out what it feels like to handle these gentle animals. And what it means to be a horseman.

Other activities on and near the farm include game viewing, hiking trails, fishing, bird watching, golf and much more!
